How to watch Disney D23 live in Fortnite and get a Wolverine item

Disney’s D23 is the biggest fan event that Disney hosts each year. It promises a variety of announcements for upcoming movies and other products, while fans can enjoy things like cosplay, contests, panels, and other presentations. This year, it’s taking place August 9-11 in Anaheim, California, right near Disneyland. One of the most unique parts of the event this year is the Horizons: Disney Experiences Showcase, which will be streamed exclusively within Fortnite.

We don’t want to go into too much detail here. To watch the stream in Fortnite, all you need to do is follow these three steps:

  1. Log into Fortnite at or after 10:30 p.m. ET on August 10.
  2. Find the Disney Horizons Live by D23 Island in the Discover bar. Alternatively, you can reach the island using the island code: 7908-6413-2516.
  3. Enter the island to watch the event, which begins at 11:30 p.m. ET.

That’s all you need to do. If you miss the live presentation, you can still watch the event as it will be streamed on a loop until August 16th.

Players who stay on the island for at least 10 minutes during the D23 event will also receive the Peelverine Plush Back Bling, a mix of Wolverine and banana. However, Epic Games says the item is not exclusive to the event and could be sold later in the game’s store. The game will also award XP for spectating. Rewards will appear on August 16 after the island closes.

What is Disney Horizons Live?

According to Epic Games, the Disney Horizons Live event will showcase upcoming collaborations between Fortnite and Disney. This could mean anything from new game modes to Disney character-inspired skins, additional cosmetics, and more. We won’t know more specific details until the event.

Disney and Epic Games announced a partnership in February in which Disney pledged to invest $1.5 billion in Epic Games to “acquire an equity stake” in the company. At the time, Disney said this would allow Fortnite players to become more engaged with Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, Avatar and other Disney properties.

“Epic Games’ industry-leading technology and Fortnite’s open ecosystem will help us reach consumers where they are, so they can interact with Disney in the ways that are most relevant to them,” said Josh D’Amaro, chairman of Disney Experiences.

Since the announcement, Disney and Epic Games have not spoken out and nothing has come of the partnership so far. Since D’Amaro is the one presenting the Horizons livestream, we’re going to go out on a limb and guess that this is our first glimpse into what the Disney and Epic Games partnership will bring to Fortnite players.
