After 34 games of the Little League World Series, the initial field of 20 teams representing the United States and international teams has been narrowed down to the top two teams who will compete for the championship title on Sunday.

The action begins with the third-place match between Venezuela and Texas at Lamade Stadium, setting the stage for the main event, followed by the Little League World Series Championship Game, featuring undefeated Chinese Taipei, who have shown their mettle throughout the tournament, taking on Florida, who enters the game with a 6-1 tournament record.

Mora Ks two more in another perfect inning

The Venezuelan starter appears to have recovered from his rocky start to this game. Mora has struck out eight Texas batters in a row after pitching another 1-2-3 inning in the third inning. He also got his fourth and fifth strikeouts of the day in that inning.

Simón Vicheria adds another for Venezuela

With the bases loaded and one out, Vicheria hits a ground ball to second base but runs down the line to prevent the possible double play. This allows Barrieta to score and the lead is one run at the start of the third inning. Texas leads 3-2.

Diego Biarreta scores for Venezuela

The first baseman hits the ball into the left-center field gap for a double for Samuel Carrasquel, cutting Venezuela’s deficit to two, but Texas still leads 3-1.

Mora throws perfect second inning

After allowing a wrong number in the first inning, Mora throws a 1-2-3 inning that includes his third strikeout of the day in the second inning.

Caden Guffey gets out of trouble

Venezuela singles its first two batters, but Guffey strikes out in the third inning and hits a double play in the fourth to get out of the inning unscathed. Texas still leads 3-0 after one inning.

Texas takes advantage of Venezuela’s mistakes and takes an early lead

With runners on first and second base, a ground ball from Doc Mogford back to pitcher Willian Mora ended in disaster for the runner-up in the international standings. Mora threw too far over third base, both runners scored, and Mogford made it to third base.

A few throws later, Venezuelan catcher Jesús Díaz was unable to hold onto Mora’s ball and Mogford scored on the passed ball. After the first inning, Texas is up 3-0.

Venezuela and Texas ready for duel for third place

The two teams that finished second on the international and U.S. sides of the standings will face off in the third-place match of the Little League World Series. Venezuela lost to Chinese Taipei in the international standings final and Texas lost to Florida in the U.S. standings final, so they will play for the final spot on the LLWS podium on Sunday.

In other words, a team must lose twice to be eliminated from the tournament.
