“It’s really weird because a lot of people think you’re going to continue MAFS and your whole world will change because this happened to a handful of people,” she said

“And I still think that as crazy and successful and exciting as everything looks on Instagram to these people, it’s not really like that in the real world. Instagram is a little bit fake.”

“What I’m trying to say is that people literally think that’s it, they’re going to go on the show, they can quit their jobs.

“They can do anything because they’re going to go there, they’re going to be so famous, they’re going to walk red carpets, they’re going to do all these brand deals and get flown overseas for collaborations, but it’s not really like that.”

Sharing how this attitude has impacted the contestants on her season specifically, Melinda continued, “I feel like on our season in particular, a lot of people feel a little lost when you leave. You know, like they lost their job or they tried to take a detour?

“Now they’re trying to embrace the influencer world. It’s not really working and everyone is a bit lost. And I hear a lot of them use the word ‘lost.’ Yes, you’re a bit lost because it’s not what you expect.”
