Rupert Grint reveals whether he would take on the role of Harry Potter again

Rupert Grint has said he would consider reprising his role in the Harry Potter series if his co-stars would work with him again.

The 33-year-old actor rose to fame as a child when he played Ron Weasley alongside Daniel Radcliffe as the wizard’s apprentice and Emma Watson as Hermione Granger in the popular film series.

The trio recently reunited with other cast members for a 20th anniversary special called “Return To Hogwarts” to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the release of the first film, “Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone.”

Speaking on ITV’s Good Morning Britain (GMB) about the possibility of returning to the franchise one day, Grint said: “I really can’t think of any reason not to.

“I love this character, I love this world. It’s a big part of my life.”

“I feel strangely like I own Ron.”

He said he would consider reprising the role of Weasley, but would like to do so with his co-stars.

However, he also admitted that he enjoyed watching someone else take on the role of the actor in the spin-off play “Harry Potter and the Cursed Child”, which is being performed at the Palace Theatre in London.

“I really enjoyed the piece and it was a real experience to see someone else take over that body.”

The fantasy film series is based on the seven books by JK Rowling, the first of which was published in 1997.

Since then, the franchise has enjoyed enormous popularity and has been adapted into blockbuster films, games, stage productions and theme parks around the world.

Grint currently plays Julian Pearce in the psychological horror television series Servant, with the third season set to debut on Friday.

The actor’s partner, Georgia Groome, gave birth to their daughter on Wednesday while he took a break from filming the second season of the series due to the pandemic.

Grint admitted that becoming a father while working on Servant was “strange” due to the dark nature of the series.

His character also has a child, and he revealed that his own daughter has some of the same toys and stroller, making him feel like he’s briefly entering a “weird parallel world” on set.
