At dawn on Sunday, the Lebanese Hezbollah launched what it described as a “large-scale” retaliatory attack on numerous Israeli positions.

The attack was expected immediately after Israel assassinated Hezbollah commander Fouad Shukr on July 30 and Hamas’s top political leader Ismail Haniyeh a day later.

The attack occurred during the ceasefire talks in Egypt. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is accused of repeatedly trying to prevent them.

According to the Gaza Strip Ministry of Health, 40,334 Palestinians were killed and 93,356 injured in Israel’s genocide in the Gaza Strip, which began on October 7.
