Best times to visit the Harry Potter Studios Tour and avoid the crowds

The Warner Bros. Studio Tour London – The Making of Harry Potter has grown into a huge cultural attraction since its opening in 2012.

Based in Leavesden, the studios welcome fans from all over the world and offer them the opportunity to explore the Wizarding World’s filming locations and studios.

The Harry Potter studios are often crowded with fans and tourists, all of whom want to see how the filmmakers made record-breaking movies.

However, this can often mean a lot of queues, sometimes long waits, and maybe a little bit of waiting to get to the front and see the wands, potions, and even the food of the Harry Potter world.

But to help you on your next trip to the magical world, we’ve compiled the best and quietest times to take the Making of Harry Potter studio tours.

The best time to visit the Making of Harry Potter Studios

Using Google’s handy feature that lets you see attractions’ most popular times, it’s not hard to guess that Saturdays are the busiest days at Harry Potter.

However, if you want less crowds than usual, a Tuesday morning around 9:00 a.m. or even earlier when it opens at 8:30 a.m. is the best choice.

Apart from lunchtime around 3 p.m. and in the evening around 6.30 p.m., there is not much going on in the studios on Tuesday – although the spot closes at 10.30 p.m.

If you have time, Monday is also a good time to visit as, although there are still crowds, it is one of the quieter days along with Tuesday.

Tours start at 9am, with the last bus departing at 6.30pm. The last bus back to Watford Junction leaves at 10pm.
