HBO Max announced on Tuesday that Harry Potter Stars Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint will reunite for the first time in ten years for an upcoming special. Watson, who played Hermione Granger in all eight films, shared a sweet tribute in honor of the news.

“Harry Potter was my home, my family, my world and Hermione is (still) my favourite fictional character of all time. I think a journalist once said it was irritating how many times I would mention how lucky I was during an interview and start counting… BUT I KNEW DAMN WELL!!! And still do,” she began.

“I’m proud not only of what we as a group brought to the franchise as actors, but of the kids who became young adults who went through this journey,” Watson continued. “I look at my fellow cast members now and I’m just so proud of the people everyone has become. I’m proud that we were kind to each other, that we supported each other, and that we persevered through something meaningful.”

Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone Premiere in November 2001. The last part, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2was published in 2011.

“Thank you to the fans who continued to support us even after the final chapter ended. The magic of this world would not exist without you. Thank you for fighting to make it such an inclusive and loving place,” Watson added. “I still miss the crew that made these films. Thank you also for all your hard work – I know your contributions sometimes get overlooked.”

Noticeably absent from HBO Max’s upcoming reunion special is JK Rowling. Harry Potter The author has come under criticism in recent years for comments that have been classified as transphobic. She has not yet commented on the announcement.

HBOMax 20th Anniversary of Harry Potter: Return to Hogwarts will be available to stream on New Year’s Day.
