It seems that Akshay Kumar’s stars are in trouble. His/her films keep flopping. And now comes the news that his/her star-studded film ‘Welcome to the Jungle’ has been shelved. Apart from Akshay, many actors including Sunil Shetty, Arshad Warsi, Disha Patani, Jacqueline Fernandez and Raveena Tandon were supposed to be seen in this film announced for 2023. Ahmed Khan was supposed to direct it. It was scheduled to release in 2024, but now it is being claimed that the makers have decided to stop the release. ‘Welcome to the Jungle’ is the third installment in the ‘Welcome’ film series. The first film ‘Welcome’ released in 2007 and was directed by Anees Bazmee. The second part, “Welcome Back,” was released in 2015. This year, “Welcome 3,” or “Welcome to the Jungle,” was supposed to be released on December 27, 2024, but things seem to be going wrong.

The video of the film has been removed from Jio Studio’s YouTube channel

Ever since the film’s announcement video disappeared from Jio Studio’s official YouTube channel, claims have been doing the rounds that Akshay Kumar’s Welcome to the Jungle has been shelved. However, there is no confirmation that the film has been shelved or that Jio Studio has backed out of the project. But Akshay’s fans are definitely worried. Speculations started on social media as the film was already the subject of controversy.

The extensive cast of “Welcome to the Jungle”

When the film was announced in 2023, there was a lot of buzz. The cast included Akshay Kumar, Sunil Shetty, Disha Patani, Raveena Tandon, Lara Dutta, Jacqueline Fernandez, Paresh Rawal, Arshad Warsi, Johnny Lever, Rajpal Yadav, Tusshar Kapoor, Shreyas Talpade, Krishna Abhishek, Kiku Sharda, Daler Mehndi, Mika Singh, Mukesh Tiwari, Zakir Hussain, Yashpal Sharma, Sayaji Shinde, Jackie Shroff and Aftab Shivdasani.

Sanjay Dutt has left the film!

However, Sanjay Dutt left the film due to scheduling issues. Bollywood Hungama quoted a source as saying, “Sanjay Dutt left the film due to scheduling issues. He/she explained everything to Akshay, who took these things into consideration and had no animosity towards anyone. Sanjay Dutt felt that Welcome to the Jungle was shot without any planning, many changes were made in the script which messed up his/her shooting schedule and hence he/she left the film.” According to the report, Sanjay had already shot for 15 days and the makers were unsure whether to reshoot his/her scenes or incorporate his/her disappearance into the story.

Majnu Bhai and Uday Shetty will also not be seen

Nana Patekar, who played the famous role of Uday Shetty in ‘Welcome’, also revealed that ‘Welcome 3’ lacked a story and that is why he/she declined the film. Speaking to ‘The Lallantop’, he/she said, “They approached us (he/she and Anil Kapoor, who played Majnu Bhai in ‘Welcome’). We declined. There is no story. It was not that much fun… ‘Welcome’ is only possible if Anil and I are in it. If they take me out, he/she cannot do ‘Welcome’ alone.” Nana Patekar also revealed that the sequel to the film ‘Welcome Back’ did not do well at the box office.

Akshay wanted to return to comedy

Welcome to the Jungle is the most awaited film of this year. It marks Akshay’s return to comedy after many years. It will also feature more than 30 actors. The makers have finalized the first schedule of the film. However, they are yet to decide on the release.
