Ina Garten says it is “nice to be back home” in her garden after attending the Olympic Games in Paris

Ina Garten knows that home is where the heart is.

After an eventful time in Paris, Barefoot Contessa The star shared a photo of the beautiful garden at her East Hampton, NY, estate along with a message of gratitude. “Paris was wonderful for the Olympics, but it’s always good to be home,” she wrote on Instagram on Friday, August 9. “Have a great weekend everyone!”

Garten ended the caption with three heart emojis and hashtags naming all the visible plants: #Hydrangea #Cleome #Verbenabonariensis #Roses.

Previously, in 2021, she showed off the lush greenery of the garden in an Instagram video and gave a glimpse of where she grows tomatoes and herbs such as sage, chives, thyme and tarragon.

“(There’s) lavender and lots of fresh herbs that I use in cooking,” she said.

Before returning to New York this week, the Food Network star showed the Today She guides the show’s hosts through Paris, where she and her husband Jeffrery Garten have had an apartment for 25 years.

“It’s the city where I’m happiest,” Ina told Hoda Kotb and Savannah Guthrie on July 26. “It’s just wonderful.”

“The special thing about the French is that everyone here enjoys their life,” she added.

Ina took Kotb, Guthrie and their co-hosts Al Roker and Craig Melvin to the Marché Raspail, a food market that has special meaning for her and Jeffrey.

“Fifty years ago, Jeffrey and I went on a four-month camping trip,” she said. “And this market we went to opened up a world of food to me that I didn’t know existed.”

“I just wanted to show you because it changed my life,” she continued.

Ina also took the group to her favorite cheese shop, Barthélémy, and to Poilâne, a bakery that opened in 1932.

“Ina in Paris, not Emily in Paris”, she joked in a joint post shared by her account and Today‘s on July 24th and refers to the popular Netflix series starring Lily Collins.

“We need to make ‘Ina in Paris’ a new show,” read the caption.
