European retailers list Wii/DS title MySims as returning to Switch (UPDATE)

When the Switch was just starting to take off, gamers were thinking about the franchises that made sense for the platform. Many thought EA would quickly bring The Sims, as the franchise seemed perfect for Switch players. Unfortunately, that never happened, but rumors suggest a spin-off of the Sims franchise could be on the way soon.

Those of you who were around during the Wii and DS era will remember the MySims spin-offs. EA found a goldmine in the MySims titles by taking core elements from The Sims and paring them down to the essentials to create a sleeker and more engaging gaming experience. This MySims experiment paid off so well that EA released countless sequels and different versions of the MySims brand over the years.

While we haven’t seen anything related to MySims in a while, it seems like EA is keen on it again. According to several European retailers, the original MySims game from Wii/DS is set to return to the Switch. Retailers state that the game will launch on November 19, 2024, but details on how this outing will differ from the original remain to be seen. It’s also worth noting that EA has made no such announcement about MySims moving to the Switch.

These retailers have to get this information from somewhere, and a port of MySims to Switch definitely makes sense. If EA confirms this re-release, we’ll be sure to share all the details with you.

UPDATE: If the retailer listings haven’t convinced you, this latest discovery should change that. If you head over to EA’s official website and look at their page for Switch games, an icon for MySims appeared at the very bottom of the page. Clicking on that icon takes you to a page for The Sims 4. So there’s obviously an issue here, but it seems likely that the correct link will be swapped out once EA makes an official announcement.
