Nic Nemeth says these two WWE stars should be on everyone’s GOAT list

One of the most popular debates in wrestling revolves around the topic of “GOAT,” or the greatest of all time. Despite the huge pool of potential candidates, TNA World Champion Nic Nemeth insists that two current WWE stars should always be included in any given discussion.

“When it comes to (Rey Mysterio) and Randy (Orton), those are two guys that should be on everyone’s list, but you don’t hear that very often,” Nemeth said on “Busted Open Radio.” “I’m sitting here thinking, yeah, everyone asks about the greatest of all time. They always say a handful of people, but Rey Mysterio is still around, by the way. I listened to the interview (he did recently), 35 years, still around.”

“…(Rey) is an absolute all-time star, beloved in every locker room,” Nemeth continued. “One of my favorite guys to beat up because every time you hit him he squeals and that’s the greatest thing in the world. He’s the best babyface you could ever work with. And he can do some of the coolest stuff in the world.”

Nemeth also praised Mysterio for establishing himself as one of WWE’s most successful underdogs, especially during a time when many of his opponents were 6’5″ and taller. As Mysterio’s career continued, Nemeth, who performed in WWE as Dolph Ziggler, recalled WWE attempting to establish several talents as his replacement. Ultimately, WWE’s attempts were in vain, as Mysterio was an “irreplaceable” figure in the ring, according to Nemeth.

While Mysterio has succeeded as a complete underdog, Randy Orton remains one of the most decorated champions in WWE history with 14 world titles to his name. Only John Cena and Ric Flair are better, and Orton is currently tied with Triple H and Charlotte Flair for the second most world title winners.
