Collin Morikawa and Byeong Hun are just one day away from the Tour Championship

Cal Golf graduate Byeong Hun An shot 1-under-par 71 on Saturday to rank 18th in the BMW Championship, the second of three legs of the FedEx Cup playoffs.

The 32-year-old South Korean is eight strokes behind the leader at minus-4, but has a good chance of moving into next week’s Tour Championship thanks to his 15th place in the FedEx Cup points standings.

Cal graduate Collin Morikawa made birdies on the 17th and 18th holes – his only two birdies of the day – and finished with a 1-over 73, which left him tied for 24th place at minus-3.

Morikawa is ranked 8th in the FedEx Cup overall standings. The top 30 players in that ranking will qualify for Atlanta after Sunday’s final round at Castle Pines Golf Club outside Denver and have a chance to win a first prize of $25 million.

Max Homa, the third Golden Bear to make it to the second weekend of the season-ending playoff series, continued to battle through and will play his final round of the 2024 PGA season on Sunday.

Homa remains 47th in the FedEx Cup points race after a third-round 73 that puts him at plus-6 and 45th for the weekend. Homa, who has won six PGA events in his career, had a wild two days, recording 13 birdies, seven bogeys, a double bogey, a triple bogey and a quadruple bogey in 36 holes.

American Keegan Bradley shot 2 under par 70 and is one stroke ahead going into Sunday’s final round, where he is 12 under par after 54 holes. Bradley, who was recently named captain of the US team for the Ryder Cup, had eight birdies but also three bogeys in a row.

He began the week in 50th place overall – the last qualifier for the BMW tournament – ​​and rose to 4th place in the points race.

Second-round leader Adam Scott, a 44-year-old Australian, is one stroke back in second place at minus 11. He shot a 74 after shooting a bogey-free 63 the day before.

Alex Noren and Ludvig Aberg are in third place with minus 10.

World number one Scottie Scheffler shot a 74 and finished tied for 35th place with plus 1. Nevertheless, he remains number 1 in the FedEx Cup rankings.
