Triple Gillan! “Jumanji 2” star Karen posts photo on set with stunt doubles

So Karen Gillan’s role in the “Jumanji” sequel is really action-packed?

The Guardians of the Galaxy star posted this photo of herself and her two stunt doubles on the set of the new film with the caption: “Three Marthas ready to kick ass in the jungle.”

The plot is still being kept secret, but we do know that Gillan’s character is called Martha/Ruby Roundhouse and that the “Tomb Raider”-like outfit is related to an “avatar” that will likely appear in a “Jumanji” video game.

However, with a previous recording of Gillan as Roundhouse being criticised as “sexist”, this latest recording is unlikely to allay concerns that the former Doctor Who star might be putting on a front.

Many criticized the filmmakers on social media for the inappropriate jungle attire Gillan wore when Kevin Hart posted the first photo from the set late last month.

Fans were assured that all was not as it seemed, and that the announced new characters – including Alex Wolff of The Naked Brothers Band and Madison Iseman – would control avatars in a game rumored to revolve around four detention-bound teenagers who get sucked into the magical land.

Hart also posted a few more pictures from the set, while Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson – who plays Dr. Smolder Bravestone – shared a short video of the transportation situation on set.

Be warned, the language is pretty crude.

The film, directed by Jake Kasdan, also stars Nick Jonas, Jack Black and Rhys Darby.

It is scheduled to be released in July 2017.

The late Robin Williams played the lead role in the first film in 1995, in which the magical board game was first introduced, alongside the young Kirsten Dunst.

Johnson has assured his fans that the new incarnation of “Jumanji” will be a tribute to him.
