Saturday will be the warmest day of the extended forecast

Happy Friday! A rapid warming trend began on Friday. Temperatures are rising as we move into the weekend. Gusty sundowner winds are expected through the weekend. There are no wind warnings in place, but First Alert Weather will monitor any changes through the weekend.

Low clouds and a marine layer are expected to reach parts of the Santa Ynez Valley on Saturday morning. Cloud cover will be rather shallow and will dissipate quickly. Although the coasts will wake up to overcast skies, temperatures will still be a bit higher compared to Friday.

High pressure is moving across the region again and the hottest areas will be in the inland valleys of San Luis Obispo County, which is why the National Weather Service has issued a heat warning.

The heat warning goes into effect at 10 a.m. Saturday and ends at 8 p.m. for inland Santa Barbara County. Temperatures will range from 35 to 38 degrees. Temperatures on the coast will be 21 degrees on Saturday, 32 degrees in the valleys and triple digits inland.

Temperatures will begin to cool down on Sunday and a fresh onshore wind will arrive. Monday will see the start of cooler temperatures for the work week. Temperatures this weekend will be perfect for anyone heading back to school next week. Enjoy!
