Sam Thompson raved that taking part in ‘This Morning’ was a “real pinch-me moment”.

The former Made in Chelsea star, who was crowned King of the Jungle in the 2023 season of ITV’s I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!, has joined the broadcaster’s long-running daytime show as a roving reporter after appearing on the show last month, and he is over the moon.

The 31-year-old reality star told the Daily Mirror: “I’ve always been a huge fan of This Morning and the energy and joy the show brings, but when I spoke to Josie about how much she loves being part of the This Morning family in the jungle, it made me want to join the team even more.”

“From my guest appearance on the show in December to being officially announced as part of the This Morning team… this is a real pinch myself moment. I can’t wait to get started, nothing beats the excitement of live TV!”

Sam is reunited with his camp roommate Josie Gibson, 38, who regularly appears as a host and announcer on the show.

A source told the newspaper: “Josie started on the show as a travelling reporter and looking at her now, this could be the start of something special for Sam, who is hugely popular.

“There is already talk about what he might do next on the show now that he is part of the ITV family.”

His first job in Monday’s episode (24.08.01) will see him appear alongside Alice Beer and Lisa Snowdon at Manchester Arndale shopping centre to solve shoppers’ problems.

Sam, who rose to fame with his sister Louise Thompson (33) through “Made in Chelsea” on E4, is also known for his popular podcast “Staying Relevant” with his best mate Pete Wicks (33), known from “The Only Way is Essex”.

He defeated boxing legend Tony Bellew (41) and won the title “King of the Jungle”.
