Sam Thompson received 57 percent of the votes in the finale of “I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!”

The 31-year-old star of Made In Chelsea finished in the bottom three alongside former boxer Tony Bellew and Brexit activist Nigel Farage, but managed to charm the audience so much that he was crowned King of the Jungle.

According to statistics released by ITV, Sam received 57 percent of the votes cast, while runner-up Tony was 14 percent behind the podcaster.

In an earlier poll, Sam received 43 percent of the vote, with Tony and Nigel receiving 31 and 26 percent respectively, putting the GB News presenter in third place.

When hosts Ant and Dec announced the result, the podcaster was “overwhelmed”.

He said: “I’m really overwhelmed. I didn’t think I would even be invited on the show. I don’t know what to say.”

In tears, Sam thanked all his supporters who had taken the trouble to vote for him.

He said: “I’m so grateful, thank you so much. I’ve dreamed of being on this show for years and you’ve made a boy’s dream come true.”

Although he only came second, 41-year-old Bellew was delighted with Sam’s victory as the two had become incredibly close during their time in the jungle.

He said: “I knew it ten days ago. When I first met him, I knew it. I had never met anyone like him… He deserves it more than anything and I couldn’t be happier.”
