According to P. Narayana, Minister of Municipal Administration and Urban Development, work on the construction of the capital city of Amaravati will begin in three months.
Mr. Narayana, who inspected the progress of the “jungle clearance work” on August 24 (Saturday), said the government would resume all the work that was stopped by the previous YSRCP government.
Fresh tenders
“The government will cancel all previous tenders and issue new ones,” Narayana said.
Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu is emphasizing on developing green capital and that is why parks are being created, the minister said.
A central park will be developed in an area of about 300 acres in Sakhamuru village in the city, Mr. Narayana said, adding that at least four parks would be developed in the next six months.
Mr. Narayana, along with the CRDA officials, inspected the nurseries in the capital and the parks in Venkatapalem, Sakhamuru and other areas. He said more than 50% of the “jungle clearance work” had been completed.
