LINCOLN, Nebraska (KLKN) – The Sarpy County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a robbery and carjacking Saturday that left two victims on the side of the road.

Shortly before 3:30 a.m., a 24-year-old man and a 22-year-old woman were driving a gray sedan on 168th Street near Giles Road when a dark-colored sedan stopped in front of them.

Officials said the male driver got out of the car to see if the dark sedan needed assistance.

Then two men jumped out of the dark sedan and attacked the 24-year-old, officials said.

Officials said the passenger also got out of the car and was also attacked.

Both victims were knocked to the ground and one of the suspects stole their car, officials said.

A pedestrian stopped when he saw the two victims and called 911.

According to authorities, both victims refused offered medical treatment.

The stolen car was found in a nearby neighborhood shortly after the attack by officers searching the area.

The Sheriff’s Office is asking all Timberlane residents to check their security cameras or video doorbells for any relevant footage.
