St. John’s County, Florida. – A 49-year-old man was arrested and charged with manslaughter while under the influence of alcohol in connection with a fatal car crash that occurred in St. Johns County in January, according to the sheriff’s office.

Officials said dispatch received several 911 calls on Jan. 2 reporting a blue Ford Raptor driving “recklessly” on St. Johns Parkway.

As officers attempted to catch up with the driver, identified as Phillip Barry, they saw the car swerve and hit the curb, according to SJCSO.

Barry then ran a red light and collided with a white Tesla at the intersection of St. Johns Parkway and Silverlake Drive, officials said.
