Multiple reports of rocks being thrown at moving vehicles in Jefferson County

JEFFERSON COUNTY, Colo. (KKTV) – A Colorado Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help in investigating several reports of rocks being thrown at moving vehicles by an oncoming vehicle.

On Friday, the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office issued a press release stating that there were six such cases between July 19 and August 4.

“Although all six vehicles were damaged, no injuries were reported,” the sheriff’s office wrote in a news release. “In one case, a rock struck the hood of a car, striking the windshield and breaking it. In the other incidents, the hood, grille and side panels of the vehicles were damaged. The suspect vehicle was described as a smaller four-door sedan, but the reported color varied.”

The sheriff’s office also shared which streets these incidents occurred on:

-W. Quincy Avenue

-W. Belleview Avenue

-W. Peakview Avenue

-W. Bowles Avenue

-W. Kohlengrubenallee

“The Sheriff’s Office is asking for assistance in identifying those responsible,” the press release continues. “Anyone with information regarding these crimes is asked to call the tip line at 303-271-5612. Callers may remain anonymous.”

In 2023, a young woman was killed in Jefferson County after someone threw a rock at her car. In this case, suspects were identified and arrested.
