Fans saw Bachelorette Jenn Tran has to make a decision about whether she wants her ex-boyfriend Matt Rossi to be on her season of the show. After telling the panel of remaining men that she had a big decision to make, emotions ran high. That’s when Devin Strader said that if she chose to let Matt join her journey, he would leave the show. Did he really mean that? Read on to find out his response.
Would Devin Strader really leave Jenn Tran?
Frontrunner Devin Strader appeared on Bachelor Happy Hour where he talked about whether he would have really gone or not Bachelorette Jenn Tran, if she would allow Matt Rossi to stay.
Ultimately, Jenn sent Matt home without giving him a chance, so all the men were happy that she made the right decision. Joe Amabile and Serena Pitt asked Devin if he was serious when he said in the heat of the moment that he would leave if Matt stayed.
Devin responded that he was serious. He said, “Oh yeah, that’s how I really felt. I like to say that I think about a lot of things that I’m going to say instead of just spitting them out. But that was a moment that was just pure emotion for me. I’ve played ex games before. It’s been an issue in my life in the past. In my mind, I wanted her to have the strength to turn all of this around. I’ve started a new chapter in my life and I’m giving this woman everything I can and I want to see where it can go.”
It was a personal matter for him
Devin Strader also revealed that this was all very personal for him. He and Jenn Tran had just been on a one-on-one date where he admitted that he was falling in love with her.
He was afraid that some guy she had dated before might just come in and take her away.
Although he liked Jenn, he actually would have left if she had allowed Matt to stay. He wouldn’t judge anyone for feeling the way they do, and he understands that you get lost in the comfort of being with an ex. However, he said he could choose not to be a part of it if she had made that decision.
He would have offered her support if she had decided that Matt needed to be there, but he would have done so from a distance.
