Shantell N. Potter Sr., 41, identified as victim of Louisville shooting

LOUISVILLE, Kentucky – Authorities have identified the man shot and killed Wednesday night in Louisville’s Russell neighborhood as 41-year-old Shantell N. Potter Sr., according to the Jefferson County Coroner’s Office.

Louisville Metro Police responded to a 911 call and found Potter in Esquire Alley with multiple gunshot wounds. He was immediately taken to UofL Hospital but tragically succumbed to his injuries.

Authorities are asking anyone with information about the shooting to come forward. Anonymous tips can be submitted by phone through the LMPD Crime Tip Line at 502-574-LMPD (5673) or through the LMPD Crime Tip Portal online.

The investigation into the shooting is ongoing.
