How did the “Gold Package” come about at Packers games?

The Green Bay Packers will conclude their 2024 preseason schedule on Saturday with a game against the Baltimore Ravens at Lambeau Field.
The game will take place following a joint training session between the two teams on Thursday in Green Bay.
And after head coach Matt LaFleur decided to bench almost all of the team’s regulars in the Packers’ second preseason game on Sunday in Denver, it’s likely he’ll use some for at least a series or two to keep them fresh, with the Packers’ regular-season opener against the Philadelphia Eagles in Brazil coming up on Friday, Sept. 6.
It’s still unclear if home fans will see quarterback Jordan Love on the field Saturday, but they will see many players still on the reserve list and others battling for key positions such as backup quarterback, safety and special teams (kicker).
