As you explore Ava, you’ll amass a massive supply of plants, resources, and beers, but Vic’s backpack is limited at the start, so you’ll unwittingly find yourself playing an inventory management minigame. Thankfully, the game includes the option to expand your backpack’s capacity using backpack bags and collectibles found throughout the map.
There are a total of six backpack bags to find, spread across the Tamura Grasslands, Nari Jungle and Maruba Swamp biomes. The first two unlock the first backpack expansion, which increases inventory size by 5 slots. The second expansion, which grants 5 additional slots, requires another four bags. We’ll show you where to find all the backpack bags.
Tamura Grasslands Backpack Bag Locations
There are three backpack bags in Tamura Grassland. Below are shots of where to find them on the map.

Tamura Grasslands Backpack Bag 1
The first bag is located in the west of the region and north of the Maruba Swamp Sibling Tree. To get to the area, you’ll need to tame an Ura creature to destroy the vines blocking the path. Continue along, breaking the vines as you go, and you’ll come to a clearing with a stack of crates covered in netting. The bag is on top of the crates.

Tamura Grasslands Backpack Bag 2
The second bag is located in the Scientific Refuge in the far east of the Grasslands. Enter the refuge building and go to the back room on the left. You will find the backpack bag on a desk next to a tablet.

Tamura Grasslands Backpack Bag 3
The final Grassland Bag is located in the ruins of The Weeping Rock in the very south of the region. You come to the area as part of the main story quest Through Stone, We Teach and unlock the Krist ability you need to get the bag. The bag is in a hidden area on the stairs leading up to the Sagestone. Destroy the two yellow flowering plants to clear the gap in the wall, then grab the bag from the crates.

In the Nari Jungle you will find two backpack bags:

Nari Jungle Backpack Bag 1
The first one is in the Aleph Prime jungle base, which is northeast of the Giggling Waterfall teleporter. Enter the base and go into the first room on the left. The bag is on a chair to your left as you come in.

Nari Jungle Backpack Bag 2
The second bag is located to the north of the Nari Jungle and northwest of the Marsh of Shine teleporter. Head to the location on the map above. Tame a Yekembo creature, then use its push ability to move the large block. Tame a Batar and jump into the ruins blocked by a bridge. Destroy the rope to lower the bridge. Switch back to the Yekembo, climb up the bridge, and move the block into the gap to form a bridge with the block you moved earlier. Walk across with the Yekembo and destroy the cracked wall. The bag is on top of a stack of crates further ahead.
Maruba Swamp Backpack Bag Locations
There is only one backpack bag in the Maruba Swamp biome:
Maruba Swamp Backpack Bag 1
The first and only bag in Maruba Swamp is located in the Aleph Prime Study Center in the west of the biome. Go to the building with the locked ground floor door. Go up the stairs nearby to reach the second floor and enter the building, then drop down into the room below where you’ll find the bag on top of some crates.
