Chicago Sky star forward Angel Reese had a fantastic second-half performance, grabbing a career-high 20 rebounds, but the Connecticut Sun won a back-and-forth game, defeating the Sky 82-80.
Five days earlier, Reese had 20 rebounds (and 19 points) against the Phoenix Mercury. With her performance on Friday, Reese made WNBA history.

Reese was scoreless in the first half but finished with 13 points. She helped Sky overcome a 10-point halftime deficit and the team even led by as many as six points in the final quarter.
Reese got going on both ends, making blocks early in the third quarter and doing work on the boards during a 15-5 run.
Reese stayed active at the basket and reduced Sun’s lead to one after her missed shot.
Sky fans praised their efforts.
The Sky led 80-77 after Reese made two free throws with 1:52 left, but the Sun made five free throws in the final period to take the win. Alyssa Thomas’s double with four seconds left put the Sun ahead for good.
It was a tough loss for the Sky, but Reese’s great second half and continued excellence at the basket were impressive.
