Mike Norvell praises FSU quarterback DJ Uiagalelei

After all, Georgia Tech is not the only team with a talented starting quarterback. On Friday State of Florida Head Coach Mike Norvell raved about his starting quarterback.

“I couldn’t wish for anything better than what he has achieved since his arrival in January until today,” Norvell said“A lot of people think that all the focus is on the field. And yes, he did that – his preparation, his work. But I mean, I think just as important is the work he put in for these guys off the field. Who he is – authentic, honest, open.

“He’s not just here to play a position. He’s here to be a great teammate. His humility comes through every day. He’s very confident in what he does. He’s very self-aware and understands the responsibility that comes with a position. But he cares about who he gets to do it with, and that’s something that’s important to this program. The relationships are critical, and I think that’s probably one of his core traits.”

King and Uiagalelei won’t have to wait long to show off their skills. Georgia Tech and FSU will face off at 12:00 p.m. ET on Saturday. The game will be broadcast on ESPN.
