In East Grand Forks, there are only primary elections for Minnesota’s 7th District U.S. House of Representatives seat and U.S. Senator seat.

In the 7th congressional district of the U.S. House of Representatives, which covers most of western Minnesota, incumbent Representative Michelle Fischbach is seeking the Republican nomination against political outsider John Boyd. AJ Peters, a small business owner, is running unopposed in the Democratic primary.

In the race for the Senate seat, Senator Amy Klobuchar is seeking the Democratic nomination for a fourth term, and Republican-backed Royce White, a politically controversial former NBA player, and Joe Fraser, a veteran and businessman, are vying for the Republican nomination.

The November ballot includes seats for municipal, city, county, school and land and water policy. The election will be held on November 5, with early voting beginning on September 20.
