Fortnite players criticize Epic over “unfair” Paradigm skin situation

After the rare Paradigm skin briefly returned to the game, the Fortnite community was in uproar, with some players calling the situation “unfair.”

The Fortnite community was shocked when an extremely rare skin returned to the game on August 7. Paradigm, previously seen in Season X nearly 1,700 days ago, appeared out of nowhere in the item shop.

Of course, given the situation, some players who were lucky enough to log in during that particular window of time immediately grabbed the skin. Originally, Epic had planned to remove the skin from the recent purchases locker as this was unintentional.

However, not long after, they stated that those who had purchased the skin could keep it and even get their V-Bucks back. After this situation, many players who didn’t get the chance to get their skin couldn’t help but criticize Epic’s change of mind in a Reddit thread.

According to one user, if players can keep the skin, Paradigm should be brought back to the item shop to “give everyone a fair chance.”

“The only reason they pulled it back so quickly was because it was a mistake and they were planning to take it away from everyone. Now that they’ve decided not to, they can’t punish the rest of the people who didn’t get a chance to log in and buy it.”

In addition, players mentioned that this type of situation only leads to “selectively rewarding some people and punishing others,” which is why they asked the developers to add them back to the store.

In the comments, many others agreed with this sentiment, with some even pointing out players who would keep the skin even though they didn’t have it before the incident.

“In the EU, shops reset at 2am. Nobody is awake at that time, so it’s really unfair,” one user replied.

“Good old ‘F*** you, I got mine,'” wrote one user.

Many players also demanded that the skin should simply be given out to everyone for free. “The worst part is that the people who grabbed it are getting it for free since their V-Bucks are being returned. Doesn’t that mean everyone should get it for free? Lol. What a joke,” one user commented.

“I mean the worst part of this whole thing is that they apparently refund people who bought it? Why?!? Huh?!?! If they refund the V-Bucks they should remove the skin they bought with it or give the skin to everyone for free,” one person chimed in.

It’s unknown if something like this will happen again in the future, but for now, Epic has stated that future Battle Pass cosmetics may return to the Item Shop after a certain amount of time.
