Which Republicans spoke at the DNC in Chicago? Here’s a list – NBC Chicago

The 2024 Democratic National Convention in Chicago has concluded. The party has officially nominated Vice President Kamala Harris and Minnesota Governor Tim Walz as its presidential candidates for the general election in November.

While the week of speeches and appearances at the United Center was filled with messages of pride and unity for the Democratic Party, it wasn’t just Democrats who spoke at the event.

Several Republicans spoke at the DNC this week, primarily spreading the message that they wanted to distance themselves from the conservative principles of the current Republican Party and the policies of former President Donald Trump.

In addition to speakers from several prominent Republicans, videos were shown throughout the convention, giving Americans who previously voted for Trump a chance to explain why they became disillusioned and chose Harris instead.

Republican speakers at this year’s DNC included former Illinois Congressman Adam Kinzinger, who has been a vocal Trump critic since the Capitol riots on January 6, 2021.

Below is a full list of Republicans who spoke at the DNC this week:

  • Stephanie Grisham – White House Press Secretary (2019-2020)
  • Ana Navarro – Political commentator/talk show host
  • John Giles – Mayor of Mesa, Arizona (2014-present)
  • Olivia Troye – former Trump administration official
  • Geoff Duncan – Lieutenant Governor of Georgia (2019-2023)
  • Adam Kinzinger – US Representative from Illinois (2011-2023)
