KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) – The 11th annual Monroe Life Balloon Festival returns to East Tennessee on Labor Day weekend.

The festival will take place on Saturday, August 31st and Sunday, September 1st at the Sequoyah Birthplace Museum in Vonore, Tennessee, from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. daily.

Attendees can enjoy balloon rides, live music, arts and crafts and vendors, food, games and an inflatable kids’ zone. All proceeds from the nonprofit event will be donated to the Boys and Girls Club of Monroe County.

The balloon rides begin at 4:30 p.m. if the weather and wind are good. The event ends on both evenings at dusk with a musical balloon glow with at least 15 colorful hot air balloons.

The festival features live music from country singer Dusty Leigh Huston, who won the 2023 Who’s Hoo Independent Country Music Award for Entertainer of the Year and Song of the Year for her song “Angry Right Now.”

“We are excited to bring a favorite fall family movie back to East Tennessee,” said Lisa Bingham, publisher of Monroe Life Magazine and owner of the Bingham Group. She is also a longtime supporter of the Boys and Girls Club of Monroe County. “We have some of the most talented pilots in the country. We invite everyone to come out and join in the celebration!”

General admission tickets are $10 and all children under four are admitted free.

Tickets can be purchased at the box office or online here.
