What TV channel is broadcasting the Twins vs. Cardinals game today? (August 23)

With only 35 games left on the schedule, the Minnesota Twins still have plenty of time to make their move and take over the AL Central.

Cleveland’s lead over the Twins has shrunk significantly from where it was at the start of the season, with Minnesota now only two full games behind the Guardians. Kansas City is also in the thick of the action, preparing for a thrilling three-way sprint to the finish line next month.

The Twins have a crucial four-game series against the Guardians in mid-September, but until then they’ll have to take it cautiously game by game. That’s not quite what’s happened in the last few games, as Minnesota has blown a late lead twice in three days and is 1-3 in its last four games.

Still, they can start in first place next week if the Texas Rangers can give them an assist against the Guardians this weekend. Of course, that would also mean the Twins would have to worry about the St. Louis Cardinals.

Last weekend, the Twins had to stay strong against a Texas team fighting for its postseason spot, and the same goes for the game against St. Louis. The Cardinals are 10 games out of first place in the NL Central, but just five games from the wild card.

While Minnesota could use a big weekend to close the gap and potentially overtake Cleveland, the Cardinals need it almost more considering they are still outside the playoff bubble and looking in.

Here’s everything you need to know to watch the game tonight:

This is an exclusive broadcast, meaning the game will not be shown on Bally Sports North and fans regardless of market will need to be subscribed to Apple TV+ to watch the game.
