Rumours say Harry Potter star and comedy icons will appear in BBC celebrity edition of “The Traitors”

The BBC has just announced that a celebrity edition of The Traitors is in the works, as well as a fourth series of the civilian version. This revelation was made at the Edinburgh TV Festival and has sparked excitement among fans, who are eagerly speculating on which celebs will be joining the cast.

Kalpna Patel-Knight, BBC’s head of entertainment, expressed her enthusiasm: “‘The Traitors’ has definitely established itself as a can’t-miss highlight of the year and the news of a fourth series and a brand new celebrity version at the BBC will take the series to a whole new level.”

She added: “It will once again be fascinating for our audience to see who will outwit, outsmart and outlast us. Let the mind games begin!”

Fans have taken to Reddit to share their predictions and wishes for the celebrity cast, with one user suggesting “Miriam Margolyes,” to which another responded: “YES that would be brilliant, the only downside is it would have to be rated 18+.”

Another fan suggested “David and Victoria Coren-Mitchell” and another agreed: “I think Victoria CM and Val McDermid would be the best traitor team ever!”

Suggestions also included stars from Ru Paul’s Drag Race UK. One person said: “I would guess Vivienne, Lawrence Chaney, Danny Beard or Baga Chipz for the Drag Race UK queen.”

One fan excitedly commented: “The Spice Girls. If Netflix could get two of them for their low-budget The Circle, The Traitors would be so much better,” reports the Express.

The tension is building, but we have yet to find out which celebrities will take up residence in the infamous castle to take part in a game of deception and betrayal.

With “The Traitors” the BBC has hit the jackpot: the audience was well entertained from start to finish in the first two seasons.

With the finale of the most recent season, in which Harry Clark won a proud prize of £95,000, viewing figures rose to a new show record of over 8.03 million.

The third part of “The Traitors” has already been filmed earlier than planned and is set to be released on BBC One early next year. This continues the trend of starting the series in January. Claudia Winkleman will once again take on the role of presenter.

The program’s success is demonstrated by numerous prestigious awards, including a TV BAFTA, a National Television Award and a Royal Television Society Award.

The third season of “The Traitors” is scheduled to air in January 2025. A release date for the celebrity version has not yet been set.
