Jim Ross believes Randy Orton is on the list of the greatest wrestlers of all time

In a recent episode of his podcast Grilling JR, Jim Ross discussed a wide range of topics, including Randy Orton’s victory over Chris Benoit for the World Title at SummerSlam 2004. Here are the highlights:

On Randy Orton’s position on the list of the best wrestlers of all time: “Top of the list. He’s top of the list, without question. He’s a natural. Pro wrestling was in his blood, and it’s still that way. He still goes out there and has as good a match as anyone on the card to this day. He’s incredibly talented and has evolved his game through all these title reigns, main events and so on.”

On Randy Orton winning the World Championship at SummerSlam 2004: “He was a good-looking young guy. Fresh, that whole thing had never been repeated before. In other words, he hadn’t had multiple championship runs before that night. So if you think about it logically, it made perfect sense. But I think that’s what proves my point to some extent. Wrestling fans like new, and they like believable new. And Orton, as you said, was so talented that his ‘believable new’ sold tickets.”
