Only yesterday it was announced that there will be a celebrity edition of The Traitors on the BBC, as well as a fourth series of the civilian edition. The exciting news was revealed at the Edinburgh TV Festival and has sent fans into a frenzy trying to figure out which famous faces will be featured.

Kalpna Patel-Knight, BBC head of entertainment, said: “The Traitors has definitely established itself as a can’t-miss highlight of the year and the news of a fourth series and a brand new celebrity version at the BBC will take the series to a whole new level.”

“It will once again be fascinating for our audience to see who will outwit, outsmart and outlast the others. Let the mind games begin!” Traitors fans flocked to Reddit to share their theories after someone pointed out that a certain Harry Potter star was set to appear.

You wrote: “Miriam Margolyes,” and someone commented: “YES that would be brilliant, the only downside would be that it would have to be rated 18+.”

Another Reddit user put it this way: “David and Victoria Coren-Mitchell,” to which someone else replied: “I think Victoria CM and Val McDermid would be the best traitor team ever!”

Other users pointed out that a star from Ru Paul’s Drag Race should take part, saying: “I’d guess Vivienne, Lawrence Chaney, Danny Beard or Baga Chipz for Drag Race UK queen.”

Another wrote: “The Spice Girls. If Netflix could get two of them for their low budget The Circle, The Traitors would be much better.”

It remains to be seen which famous faces will move into the iconic castle and become part of a manipulation and lie.

The Traitors was a huge success for the BBC and fans loved every second of the first two seasons.

The finale of last season, which saw Harry Clark take home £95,000, reached a new high for the show with over 8.03 million viewers.

A third series has already been filmed and is set to air on BBC One early next year, like the last season, which begins in January. Claudia Winkleman returns as presenter.

The show has won several awards including a TV Bafta, a National Television Award and a Royal Television Society Award.

The third season of “The Traitors” is scheduled to air in January 2025. A release date for the celebrity version has not yet been set.
