Wife of “Harry Potter” star Warwick Davis dies at the age of 53

Following the tragic death of actor Warwick Davis’ wife from health problems, numerous condolences were poured in.

Samantha David has sadly passed away at the age of 53 and leaves behind her husband and three children.

Devastated Warwick Davis announced his wife’s death on Wednesday evening, saying: “Her passing has left a huge void in our lives as a family. I miss her hugs.”

He described his beloved partner as his “most trusted confidant and ardent supporter of everything I did in my career.”

“She was a unique character, always saw the bright side of life, had a wicked sense of humor and always laughed at my bad jokes.”

Samantha, born Samantha D. Burroughs on January 30, 1971, suffered from achondroplasia, a bone growth disorder that causes disproportionate dwarfism, the Mirror reported.

She was known for her roles in Through the Dragon’s Eye, ShortFellas, and Honky Sausages, and had an uncredited role alongside her husband in the 1988 film Willow.

Samantha and Warwick met on the set of Willow as teenagers. Warwick was just 17 and already a star thanks to his role as Ewok Wicket in Star Wars: Return of the Jedi.

Samantha, then 16, was the daughter of Peter Burroughs, a co-star in “Willow,” where Warwick got the lead role alongside Val Kilmer.

Outside of acting, Ms Davis and her husband founded the charity Little People UK in 2012 to help people with dwarfism and their families.

Samantha’s death followed her battle with sepsis in 2019.

Mr Davis said his wife’s mobility had declined in recent years but she was “determined that this would not affect her quality of life”.
