Harry Potter Actor Bonnie Wright has admitted that there is one aspect of the film series that she is still disappointed with.

The star played Ginny Weasley in all eight installments of the wizarding film series, with the character initially portrayed as Ron Weasley’s younger sister and later becoming Harry’s lover.

In the latest episode of Michael Rosenbaum’s podcast “Inside of You,” Bonnie admitted that she found the limited screen time for Ginny “a little disappointing,” especially because the films required many parts of her story to be cut from the original books.

“I definitely feel like there was a fear of doing well and being the best when I was building my character, for example,” Bonnie said.

“It was like, ‘Oh God, am I doing justice to this character that people love?’ So that was always difficult, especially when inevitably a lot of scenes with each character were cut from the book to the film. So you didn’t have as much to show in the film.”

She continued: “It was a little disappointing at times because some parts of the character just didn’t come across because there weren’t any scenes for them.

“I guess that made me a little worried or just frustrated.

“I think I took it to heart, which I don’t take so much to heart now. Maybe I was afraid that I would portray this character poorly, rather than realizing later that I didn’t really have the opportunity. So it wasn’t really my fault.”

Bonnie added, “When fans share that disappointment, they do it in a way that says, ‘We know it wasn’t you. We just wanted more of you.’ And that goes for all the characters. If only there could be five-hour movies.”

The character Ginny Weasley will likely play a larger role in the upcoming Harry Potter television series, which was announced back in April.

Each season of the decade-long series focuses on a different book in the series and is touted as a “faithful adaptation” of the hugely famous book series, with a brand new cast yet to be announced.

The production is being carried out by the US streaming service Max (formerly known as HBO Max), which has announced that the film will be available worldwide after its premiere.

The podcast “Inside of You” is now available to stream.
