Many had hoped that favourite Noah Lyles would win his first Olympic gold medal in the 200 metres at the Stade de France. But to everyone’s surprise, it was Botswana’s Letsile Tebogo who sprinted to the finish in 19.46 secondsDespite having etched his name in the history books with his country’s first Olympic gold medal, he is left stunned by his second-place finish in the 4×400-meter race a few days later. After putting that behind him, he took part in the Lausanne Diamond League on August 22.

How did he do? It was no surprise that the Olympian beat his competitors in an outstanding time of 19.64 seconds. In his post-race interview, he talks about what it’s like to return to the DL. “For me, it was a great race here in Lausanne today. It’s really cool for me that I can compete here again next year,” he explained.

The Botswanan continued: “I I think the most important thing for me is that even after successes like my Olympic successes, at the end of the day you just have to keep running to maintain your form throughout the season.” There is no doubt that he caused a stir in the French capital. Letsile Tebogo’s impressive form at the Stade de France
