Kelly Ripa has had an extremely successful career in television and she says she owes a large part of her success to Disney.

The 53-year-old spoke about her long-standing association with the company during the 2024 D23 Disney Legends Awards ceremony, where she was honored as an official Disney Legend.

Talk to ETRipa said Disney had “given him everything.”

“Everything has to do with Disney,” she continued. “My work, of course, but also my husband, my children, everything!”

Ripa started her career when she got the role of Hayley Vaughan in All my childrena soap opera on ABC, a Disney-owned network. During her years on the show, Ripa’s current husband Mark Consueloswas hired to play her love interest, and a romantic relationship soon developed between the two actors.

The couple eloped within a year of their relationship, have now been married for around 28 years and have three children together.

During her appearance at the Disney Legends Awards, Ripa also spoke a little about how she felt like an imposter while standing next to people like Jamie Lee Curtis and other big names.

“I never saw myself as having imposter syndrome until I was standing up there with you watching me. Harrison Ford And Angela Bassett and everyone,” she told the publication. “It exceeded my wildest dreams.”

As Ripa accepted the award on stage, she recounted how her relationship with Consuelos began during filming All my childrenjoking: “We met on the set of All my children 30 years ago, and from then on, we conceived our own three children right backstage in the Disney labs.”

Other award winners at the awards ceremony were James Cameron, Miley Cyrus, Frank Oz, John Williams And James L. Brookswho all contributed significantly to the company’s success.
