The Crafts are known as important donors in the Bluegrass, including for the University of Kentucky. They showed that generosity again this morning when they were surrounded by several other notable Wildcats.

The 60th Kentucky Farm Bureau Country Ham Breakfast and Charity Auction took place this morning at the Kentucky State Fair. During the event, which was attended by a group of blue and white members, Joe and Kelly Craft purchased the 18.2-pound ham for $10.5 million. They then took photos with it, along with the likes of Mark Pope and his wife, Vince Marrow and Oscar Tshiebwe.

There were also two football players, RB Chip Trayanum and OL Gerald Mincey, who both joined via transfer.

This is the fourth year in a row that the Crafts have taken home the prize-winning breakfast ham. They did so after reportedly outbidding Luther Deaton, Chairman/President and CEO of Central Bank. Their highest bid set a new record, having already been set at $10 million last year. In total, they have now spent over $30 million on these hams.

However, all proceeds will go to a charity of the winner’s choice.

This comes one week before the Kentucky sports year really begins. Marrow, Trayanum and Mincey will be at the start of the football season next weekend when the Wildcats face Southern MissFor Pope, his first year at his alma mater will soon begin when his new team returns from summer practice in Lexington.

Tshiebwe is in town today and tomorrow to appear at the Reed Sheppard Fantasy Experience at Rupp Arena. He will be a guest speaker at the event, particularly on Faith Day on Friday.
