8-year-old Old Lycoming Township child calls 911 while witnessing parents’ argument | News, Sports, Jobs

It was just after 10 p.m. on Friday night when the emergency dispatcher answered the 911 number. On the other end was an 8-year-old child from Old Lycoming Township who reported: “his parents argued”, according to an affidavit from Lycoming Regional Police. When officers arrived, they questioned a woman with “Swelling in the left eye” and Marvin Henriquez, 39, in their apartment at 2000 Mill Lane. The woman reported that Henriquez picked her up from work and that the two “began to fight” when they got home, the affidavit said. At one point, Henriquez grabbed her by the neck and made it difficult for her to breathe, police alleged. A family member separated the two, but soon after, Henriquez allegedly grabbed her a second time, police were told. “You hurt me,” the woman told him, police added.

Henriquez then went into the kitchen, grabbed a knife and threatened to kill the woman, the court document states. When questioned, Henriquez admitted that the two had been arguing: “But nothing physically happened,” the affidavit states. After his arraignment before District Judge Aaron Buechle on charges of aggravated strangulation, terroristic threats, simple assault and harassment, Henriquez was jailed on $50,000 bail.
