Carter confessed that while she wanted her character to have a daring look, she ended up going too far when a remark from her assistant caught her completely off guard. In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Carter talked about her look as a character and opted for a more revealing costume. However, Carter’s friend and assistant suggested that her costume might be a bit too risqué for the character.

Carter made the above statement about her appearance in the film, adding that she came up with the idea of putting her character in a corset.
The actress further explained that she did not want to wear the costume designer’s original outfit, mainly because she felt that she could easily look terrible in the costume due to her size. In addition, Carter wanted her look to reflect the warlike and fatal aspect of her character.
Helena Bonham Carter regretted her editing duel with Gary Oldman’s Sirius Black
In the same interview, Carter also talked about Bellatrix’s relationship with Sirius Black, played by Gary Oldman. However, Carter admitted that a scene between her and Oldman’s character, in which the cousins dueled, was cut from the final film.
I spent three weeks learning how to fight with wands. And I was really good at all my spells!
Carter made the above statement, revealing how much time and effort she had put into preparing for the wand fight with Oldman’s character.
Additionally, Carter explained that the fight choreography was extremely complicated and Sirius made a strategic mistake. However, the actress was disappointed that the scene did not make it into the final cut, especially since she had invested so much time in preparing it.
Although the film does not show the duel between Bellatrix and Sirius, the climax sees a final confrontation between the two. Finally, Bellatrix killed Sirius in cold blood, giving Carter some respite after the wand fight scene was cut from the film.
