Healers focus on casting restoration spells to keep their allies alive and prevent a complete party wipeout, but WoW offers more than one class option, each with their own unique abilities and powers.
WoW The War Within Healer Rankings
We based our healer rankings on the popular 11.0 community rankings on Wowhead.com and Archon.gg.
Here’s what each level on our list means:
- S-level: Robust healers who can keep the entire team alive with powerful spells while also contributing to the group’s DPS.
- A-Level: Popular meta picks that you can find in any raid or dungeon you enter.
- B-Level: Okay, healers who rely on strong team synergy.
- C-Level: Lacks variety/healing throughput compared to higher level picks.
- D-Level: Less useful healers, especially in high difficulty dungeons.
Hero talents, balance changes, and potential nerfs were factored into our tier list, but your healer can still be S-tier as long as you’re having fun.
The War Within Healer Rankings

The Holy Priest’s numbers have now been overtaken by the Restoration Druid, who now gains 20,000 more HP/second with optimized builds. However, despite the nerfs in 10.1, he is still the most popular healer class in the game due to abilities like Power Infusion.
Next up is the Mistweaver Monk, who despite being a little complicated can excel at both single-target and area healing, sometimes also by dealing damage.
In terms of survivability, Holy Paladin and Restoration Shaman fall behind. Despite a number of buffs, we place them at B due to their ineffective combos.
Finally, the Discipline Priest has been the least used of the Seven, so we’re placing him at D-tier for a number of reasons.
This priest specialization trades higher HPS for big passive damage with abilities like Penance. While it’s great to see your support dishing out big numbers, you’re not exactly fulfilling your role in the group.
