Daniel Radcliffe “can’t watch any of the Harry Potter films”

Although the Harry Potter films – all eight of them – were the springboard to a blossoming acting career for Daniel Radcliffe, there is one thing he just can’t stand.

In an interview with Playboy magazine, the star went into detail, saying that while he considers Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix to be his best work, he does not consider the next film, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince.

“In every film up to the sixth one, you can see a great improvement in my acting performance,” he told Hugh Hefner’s veteran men’s magazine.

“And then it stopped in the sixth film, or maybe went back.”

He said he was drawn to The Order of the Phoenix because the film features scenes with top British actors such as David Thewlis and Gary Oldman.

So what was the problem with number six, Dan? Tell me…

“I had the idea that Harry was like a soldier traumatized by war and therefore emotionally closed off,” he continues.

“It’s not a bad idea, but it’s not particularly interesting to watch something for two and a half hours.

“You see a mistake you’ve been making for 11 months.”

Radcliffe had previously spoken about how, as a young actor, he made all his mistakes on screen, “mistakes that other actors make in rehearsal rooms or in drama school,” he said in an interview with the Mail on Sunday last year.

But whether he likes the film or not, he did his part – from 2001 until the film’s completion in 2011, it grossed a total of $7.7 billion.

Since then, Radcliffe has starred in films such as The Woman in Black, Kill Your Darlings, and the upcoming Victor Frankenstein, where he played Igor alongside James McAvoy’s macabre doctor.

The film is set to be released in the UK on December 3. You can get a little taste of the trailer below…
