WorldECR | DHS updates list of Uighur forced laborers

The U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has released an updated list of companies under the Uyghur Forced Labor Prevention Act (UFLPA). The list now includes five new companies involved in forced labor practices related to China’s Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region (XUAR).

The latest update, posted on the DHS Forced Labor Enforcement Task Force (FLETF) website, adds two companies that work with the government of the XUAR to recruit, transport, transfer, harbor, or receive forced labor from Uyghur, Kazakh, Kyrgyz, or other persecuted groups. Two additional companies were added that source materials from the XUAR, particularly through government labor programs such as the “poverty alleviation” or “pairing assistance” programs that involve forced labor. A fifth company was identified under both categories.

The newly named companies include Xinjiang Tengxiang Magnesium Products Co., Ltd., Century Sunshine Group Holdings, Ltd. and Rare Earth Magnesium Technology Group Holdings, Ltd.
