The handful of Alexandrians at the Democratic National Convention (and those watching from home) may have recognized a familiar face on the big screen yesterday.
Danielle Romanetti, owner of yarn boutique Fibre Space in Old Town, appeared at the Democratic National Convention last night and appeared alongside other local business owners in a commercial supporting Democratic candidate Kamala Harris.
“She understands the important role of small businesses and sees entrepreneurs not only as the backbone of our economy but also as important community leaders,” Romanetti said in the video.

Harris visited the fiber optic area and spoke with Romanetti in 2021 at a meeting arranged by Councilman John Chapman. It was Harris’ first outside visit in that role. The two discussed the second Covid relief bill and the impact on small businesses.
“The last four years have been positive and we have seen growth,” Romanetti said. “I am really excited to have Kamala Harris as our presidential candidate.”
