Daniel Radcliffe rules out return to “Harry Potter”

Daniel Radcliffe rules out return to “Harry Potter”

Daniel Radcliffe has no interest in starring in a Harry Potter and the Cursed Child film.

The 32-year-old actor rose to fame for his role as the titular boy wizard in the film series based on JK Rowling’s popular book series. And although Chris Columbus – who directed the first two films in the saga – recently admitted he would love to direct the star in an adaptation of the hit stage show, in which the original characters are now grown up, it’s not something Daniel is keen on.

He told the New York Times: “It’s not the answer anyone would want, but I think I’ve been able to come back and enjoy it so much because it’s no longer part of my everyday life.”

“I’m at a point where I feel like I’ve come out of ‘Potter’ pretty well and I’m really happy with where I am now. Going back would be a massive change in my life.”

The actor from “Lost City” does not completely rule out the idea, but fans would have to wait a very long time to see him as Harry again.

He said: “I’ll never say never, but the Star Wars people had 30, 40 years before they came back. I only had 10. It’s not something I’m really interested in at the moment.”

Meanwhile, Daniel admitted that he had to film one of his “weirdest” scenes ever for the upcoming biopic “Weird: the Al Yankovic Story,” in which he plays parody musician Weird Al.

He said: “I did a recording the other day and Al came up to me afterwards and said, ‘Is this the weirdest thing you’ve ever had to do?’

“I thought to myself, ‘This is one of the top two spots. The only other one is Paul Dano riding me like a jet ski at the beginning of ‘Swiss Army Man.'”
