Fortnite has consistently delivered high-quality content over the past few years. The gaming community has fallen in love with the competitive and ambitious nature of the game, especially the collaborations the game allows through partnerships with other major franchises.

The community had some harsh words to say about last season, and Epic Games heard enough to make some tough decisions for Chapter 5, Season 4. The current season started with a bang; however, it was inevitable that certain items were significantly nerfed, and fans are unhappy.

The Fortnite community’s fears have come true and players are already angry

Epic Games is doing everything it can to get back on its feet after the last season didn’t go down well with the players and plans to win them back by giving them what they’ve been yearning for. Chapter 5, Season 4 is another season that focuses on characters from the Marvel Universe and explores the cruelty of Doctor Doom in Fortnite.

It has become common practice for the developers to introduce new items inspired by the theme of the latest season. Countless items from the Marvel Universe have been added to the game, such as Captain America’s Vibranium Shield, Doctor Doom’s Arcan Gauntlets and his Monarch Pistol, and many more; however, there is one that tops every list.

The teaser trailer showed off War Machine’s incredible gear in detail, and everyone was happy to see a variant of the jetpack return. It’s a much more convenient way to get around and can give them an edge over the competition in a sticky situation. However, the developers realized it was too good for their taste and decided to make the necessary adjustments.

Other players were convinced that the new twin machine guns were weakened given the impressive firepower and rate of fire. War Machine served with the Avengers for many years and is known for his arsenal. Fans took full advantage of it from the start of the season, collecting every mythical item available in the game to get the full experience.

It’s a shame that jetpacks are being nerfed rather than other items likely to be abused by toxic players. Fans have recognized a cycle where Epic Games introduces a new item and players can try it out for the first few days and then nerf it later.

Game developers have to find the fine line between balance and scaling in online multiplayer games. Players often use jetpacks to move around the map faster and use them in battles to gain higher positions, but Epic Games is not a fan of this method.

Hopefully the changes are not as drastic as expected and will not prevent players from using these items. The developers need to carefully consider their options and not make decisions that they will later regret and that could turn the community against them.

The hover jets were a cool addition, allowing players to sprint and glide in combat. However, this could potentially lead to another toxic season. Epic Games is recovering from last season’s fiasco, and fans have high hopes that Absolute Doom will get them back on the right track.
