Devin Haney tells Oscar De La Hoya to ‘hit back with my money’ after he reacted harshly to the fair brawl

Devin Haney has gotten himself into quite a messand now Oscar De La Hoya has shared his thoughts online. Not long ago, a clip appeared online in which “The Dream” Haney into an altercation with a person at the Orange County Fair. The 27-second clip shows Haney and his entourage attacking the unidentified man near one of the fair’s attractions.

While the details of the altercation are still unclear, the clip clearly showed that Devin Haney was the one who struck first, followed by his friends who relentlessly attacked the man. The person in the video tried to defend himself, but police sirens in the distance startled Haney and his companions and they ran.

This incident garnered a lot of attention from fans and experts alike. One of these experts is Oscar De La Hoya, who reflected on the incident in his “Clap Back Thursday” videos. “In other news, Devin Haney had his comeback fight last week at the Orange County State Fair! I don’t know if you saw the whole video. Devin punches a civilian while standing in front of the farce wheel and he (misses). Bro, your dream has officially turned into a freaking nightmare.” Said Oscar De La Hoya, making fun of Haney.

When Haney saw this, he quickly turned to X, shared his thoughts on Oscar’s comments, and asked him to give him the money he was owed. “If only Oscar would clap back with my money,” Haney joked, referring to the now declared non-participation Ryan Garcia vs. Haney fight. It is worth noting that even Garcia had demanded his share of the pay-per-view money, to which the head of Golden Boy Promotions was quick to respond.

Oscar had claimed that the fighters were paid their share of the contract money. And as for the pay-per-view portion, that money comes as overtime and the boxers are paid accordingly. He had even implied that the fighters’ managers already knew about it, so Oscar asked them to focus on their contracts instead of social media.

Regardless, the GB Promotions boss is not the only one who has reacted to the altercation with Devin Haney at the Orange County Fair.

Following the altercation at the convention, Haney’s boxing rival Ryan Garcia, who is currently serving a suspension, took to social media to mock Haney. Garcia noted on X: “He couldn’t even drop a civilian,” and referred to Haney’s alleged punch during the incident. Garcia didn’t stop there and criticized Haney’s behavior at the fair, which he said was inconsistent with Haney’s self-proclaimed status as a role model.

“You actually hit someone while your whole team jumped on one guy,” Garcia noted. It’s worth noting that Haney responded to this in a now-deleted tweet, writing: “The way you use the N-word, you’d probably be best friends.” In a follow-up post, Garcia sarcastically asked how the boxing commission would react if a similar incident involving him was caught on camera, adding: “The thing is, he hits so gently that they might let it slide and call it a play fight.”

However, Devin Haney is in serious trouble for attacking a man from his group of friends. Although it doesn’t paint a good picture for the former undisputed lightweight champion, he has claimed that the altercation was the result of some racist comments. What do you think about all this?
