Anyone planning to drive through downtown Cincinnati on Thursday should prepare for heavy traffic as thousands of music and sports fans crowd The Banks.

Green Day will perform at Great American Ball Park on Thursday as part of their Saviors Tour. Special guests include The Smashing Pumpkins, Rancid and The Linda Lindas. The Cincinnati Bengals will also host the Indianapolis Colts at Paycor Stadium that evening for the team’s final preseason game.

In order to be able to hold the events and safely manage the crowds, several streets around the city center will be closed.

Here’s a look.

  • Elm Street: Closed south of Second Street.
  • Race Street: Closed to through traffic south of Second Street (access to the garage remains).
  • Marian Spencer Way: Closed to through traffic south of Second Street (access to the garage remains).
  • Joe Nuxhall Way: Closed south of Second Street.
  • Johnny Bench-Way: Closed south of Broadway.

According to a press release from the City of Cincinnati, most of the parking spaces around the stadium and ballpark are reserved for Bengals season ticket holders, but some bar parking is available near the riverfront.

The city recommends that anyone attending the Green Day concert or Bengals game without a parking pass arrive early, use a rideshare service, park further uptown, or use public transportation instead.
