Overlooking the ocean and a spectacular sunset, Dan’s Taste hosted Dan’s White Party at Gurney’s Montauk Resort. Chic guests dressed in their best whites and enjoyed an unforgettable evening of gourmet bites, epic beats and cocktail toasts.

“Gurney’s is the perfect venue for the grand finale of Dan’s Taste’s most successful season yet,” said Elizabeth Schneps Aloni, SVP of Dan’s Papers Events. “The best of the worlds of food, drink, fashion and entertainment came together for a quintessential Hamptons summer party series. It’s hard to believe, but the best is yet to come! Cheers to 2024 as we look ahead to summer 2025.”

Dan’s White Party marked the epic climax of the 2024 Dan’s Taste Summer Series as host Chef Alex Guarnaschelli welcomed guests, RHONJMargaret Josephs served as guest bartender while everyone enjoyed the East End’s finest cuisine and the finest cocktails, beers and wines. The epic beach party took place on Saturday, August 17th at Gurney’s Montauk.

“I mean, you’re on the beach, right by the ocean, eating seafood. The idea of salty air while eating a lobster roll gives me a sense of closeness,” said Chef Alex Guarnaschelli. “I’ve been going to Gurney’s since I was a kid, so this is a very sentimental place for me – Long Island is in my blood.”

“I have the feeling Dan’s papers is an iconic Hamptons staple, and for them to have the ultimate White Party at Gurneys, which is an iconic item this summer with all these amazing brands – it’s just amazing. Everyone wants to be here, it’s the party of the summer, it’s a White Party and it ends the season like it should,” said Margaret Josephs. “Everything just fits together and everyone couldn’t wait to be here. Everyone is having a great time – it’s a beautiful evening.”

Participating vendors include Atlanta-based traveling chef Shawn Osbey, East Hampton Shuckers, Hamptons Catered Affairs, Insatiable Eats, Newlight Breadworks, Passmore Caviar, Scarpetta, Shinnecock Lobster Factory, The Beach Club and Tilles.

“I love the people at Dan’s Papers and I love having fun at these events. I just love seeing the same faces at every event – we enjoy seeing each other. There are certain influencers that I know now and we chat on Instagram and then we see each other here. There are other vendors and people that you know from the events over the summer – we make friends and I enjoy meeting new people too… it’s been a really great summer,” said Dana McCall of Hamptons Catered Affairs.

“We want a party here. Caviar can be so intimidating, and we want people to enjoy it because it’s good. It’s a lot of damn fun. I just want to have a great time. We’re doing this for the third or fourth year now, and it’s always such a great time, so we want them to enjoy it. Don’t be intimidated. Come on over and see us,” said Michael Passmore of Passmore Caviar.

“When people come to the restaurant and I get good feedback, it makes me want to make it better every day,” says Gurney’s head chef Mbaba Danso. “As a chef, you’re always in the background. You don’t see the guests, you only see the reviews of the food. When you see the guests trying the food and smiling, it’s great and makes you feel good… You love what you do and that’s how you survive. As a chef, you work long hours. But when you love what you do, you don’t even think about hours or anything else.”

“Dan’s Series events have been amazing from the beginning. The staff is great, all the guests are amazing. It’s great to meet all these cool people. The whole experience has just been top notch. I’m really glad I decided to participate and be a part of it,” said Chef Shawn Osbey.

“Delola Cocktails was delighted to be part of the party of the summer! Our product, the upscale RTD selection, was perfectly suited to be served in such an upscale atmosphere. Guests were able to truly experience the magic of Delola – it was especially magical serving guests from our fabulous ‘Delola blue’ bar cart, which was certainly a showstopper in the sea of elegant white! There is no better way to end the summer and connect with fans of the brand, both old and new,” said a Delola representative.

“It’s a great way to be part of the community. It’s a lot more fun than just putting your name on ads and magazines – you get a chance to meet everyone,” said Scott Weissman of Grey/Ven. “We’re really a quiet luxury brand. We have a capsule collection that we designed for the Hamptons – we make clothes that fit the demographics of the area we sell it in. We create clothes for our customers, for the place they are – which is now – we’re a destination-driven collection… our collection is white party ready.”

“We want to serve great cocktails to great people in a great place. It’s a new product, so we want to showcase the flavor and the spirit, and this is the place to do it. Hopefully everyone likes it,” said Matt Perroca of Ciroc Limonata.

“It just feels like a really nice end to the summer. Everyone is so happy to be here. The vibe is really good. It’s just a very festive, fun, beautiful night at the beach. A great end to the summer,” said Jayme Loftus of Cadillac.

“We’re excited but sad at the same time because we know summer is coming to an end, but we want this event to be very exciting. It’s the last bang, so we’re just excited to be here. Hopefully it’s packed, it’s sold out and we’re just happy for people to come and enjoy the party,” said Therese Corriente of Adamas.

“I’m so excited for tonight’s event, the grand finale of all Dan’s Taste events. We’re happy to partner with Dan’s Papers and it’s been a great summer series, so we’re already looking forward to next year. We’re providing all the ice cream for the Dan’s event, not just the bagged ice cream, but the sculptures, light-up ice cubes and tonight we have a special surprise! It’s fun, it’s an experience – not just ice cream in a cone,” said Megan Conklin of Long Island Ice & Fuel.

“The season is almost over, but the fun in the Hamptons continues,” said Chef Marco Barrila of Insatiable Eats and Shinnecock Lobster Family. “Tonight, I want to say goodbye to summer for the grand finale and celebrate the coming of winter and fall. Today we present a wonderful risotto, bianco garlic and oil with Mediterranean shrimp… even though summer is almost over, the fun in the Hamptons continues.”

“It’s almost September now and we’re thinking about the last days of summer. I think the Hamptons is kind of a symbol of summer and we want to be a part of that. My/Mochi was actually the original mochi, so I feel for us, we have a tradition and what better way to represent summer than with some mochi ice cream. It’s a cool combination and a cool mashup,” said Brigette Wolf, CMO of My/Mochi.

“The energy at the events is really great. I’ve met a lot of these other chefs… friendships and relationships have been formed, which is also a lot of fun. Plus, I get to be a participant. You’re not just working here, you’re participating in the event and you’re actually involved in the event itself,” said Chef Stephen Robinson of Newlight Breadworks.

“It’s so much fun. The people are super friendly, everyone I’ve met has been really nice. The people who work at Dan’s Papers are some of the nicest people I’ve ever met,” said partygoer Alycia Steelman.

“I think this event is so cool because it’s a celebration of summer in a way. Everyone is just having fun, dressed up, wearing their Saturday clothes. The food is incredible, the drinks, the vendors and everything is so vibrant and full of life. It’s everything you want from a summer festival and that’s the vibe every event wants to have,” said celebrity chef Matthew Merrill.
